Principal Full Stack and AI Engineer

About the Role

Architect and build the next generation of Genie Health's intelligent platform. This role combines deep full stack engineering capability with hands-on AI deployment experience — ideal for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of scalable software systems and cutting-edge AI.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, or related field
• Proven full stack engineering experience, including modern web frameworks and backend systems
• Hands-on experience with LLM inference optimization and deployment (e.g., quantization, caching, model parallelism)
• Strong background in handling sensitive and unstructured data (text, images, notes)
• Familiarity with AI model serving, vector databases, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
• Experience deploying cloud-native systems on AWS and GCP
• Track record of MVP rollouts in fast-moving startup environments
• Experience in early-stage startups, ideally as a founding engineer or technical lead

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in healthcare, healthtech, or regulated data environments

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end features across the stack — from frontend interfaces to backend APIs and AI model integrations
• Architect and deploy LLM inference systems optimized for latency, throughput, and cost
• Build data pipelines and services that handle sensitive unstructured health data securely and compliantly
• Lead MVP rollouts and iterate rapidly to achieve product-market fit
• Collaborate with product, data science, and design teams to deliver AI-driven user experiences
• Set engineering best practices for code quality, scalability, observability, and security
• Work across AWS and GCP environments to manage compute, storage, and model hosting infrastructure
• Work collaboratively across cultures and time zones — especially with colleagues in Singapore and Vietnam — to bring ideas to life
